Dear fellow writer,
There’s something magical — and paradoxical — about a writing retreat. You write like a demon yet feel like you’re on holiday. You write alone yet feel embraced by community. Transported to an unfamiliar landscape, you write your way home.
I love writing retreats and have attended many inspirational retreats over the years (plus a few clunkers). So when I decided to start designing writing retreats for others, I already knew the answers to my own most pressing questions:
Where should I hold them? In two of the most beautiful places in the world, of course! (New Zealand and Switzerland).
How long should they be? A full week — long enough for the retreaters to acclimate and settle into their writing.
How many people should I invite? No more than half a dozen writers per retreat, so I can spend quality time with each of them.
How should I run the retreats? Lightly, gracefully, allowing plenty of “air & light & time & space” for writing, thinking, walking, talking, workshopping, and self-discovery.
Nearly two years after I launched my first post-pandemic retreat in early 2023, my annual Island Time and Mountain Rise writing retreats have already become the stuff of legend! And now, for a limited time only, both 2025 retreats are on sale for a whopping 20% off the regular price.
Imagine starting your writing day with a sunrise swim at gorgeous Palm Beach on Waiheke Island, ranked #5 in Travel and Leisure’s 2018 list of “The World’s Best Islands.” Island Time 2025 will take place from January 26 to February 1 2025 — that’s high summer in Aotearoa New Zealand, perfect weather for writing outside on a shaded deck with a view of the island’s most beautiful beach.
The catch? There’s only one space left, and it needs to be booked and paid for no later than December 1, 2024.
We’ve also just opened up earlybird bookings for Mountain Rise 2025, to be held in the breathtaking alpine village of Wengen, Switzerland from July 20-26, 2025. Here’s a view of our retreat venue, Hotel Edelweiss, perched high above the spectacular Lauterbrunnen Valley. All this can be yours for 20% off the regular price if you book and pay by December 1, 2024.
Both all-inclusive retreats feature small-group workshops and individual coaching, as well as plenty of focused writing time. Contact me to set up a free Zoom conversation if you’d like to discuss which retreat would be the best fit for you.
Island Time or Mountain Rise? Either way, I’d love to see you there!
If you appreciate hearing about events like these — or just want to make my day — please take a moment to drop me a heart, leave a comment, and/or click Restack at the bottom of this message. Your enthusiasm and support mean so much to me.
Kia pai tō koutou rā (have a great day) – and keep on writing!
